BR Hills-MM Hills-Nagamalai Hills Amazing Experience

Date: 4th and 5th Aug 2012

Myself and Ravi had left Bangalore early morning and reached to Malavalli where other friend(Girish) joined us. Three of us together went to BR Hills via Kollegala -Yalanduru. There was too much rush in the city as many people were coming to BR hills as some festival was going on at top of hills. I had mouth ulcer then, not able to taste any hot foods. We reached to Top of Hills through KSRTC bus which went very slowly. The Road was good but too steep in some places. We went to Top of hills where Temple was located. There was wonderful temple built by Cholas. We were being offered " Puliyogre" as prasadam at temple. This Prasad was very good in taste and we enjoyed it.

Myself and Ravi on BR Hills

We enjoyed seeing nature beauty across hills and had nice lunch Lemon Rice (Chitranna). I also wanted to do trekking in this BR hills, This is dense forest and really nice of going for adventure in this forest. We left BR hills at around 2PM and reached down the city. We saw the other beautiful temple in the City built by Cholas.

Temple in Yalanduru

We left Yalanduru and then reached to MM Hills at around evening 6PM. we planned to trek to Nagamalai Hills in the next morning. We had a darshan of Malai Mahadeshwara Sway at temple in the night. We stayed in the lodge and woke up  in the morning at around 7AM. We got a Jeep from MM Hills to reach the place where we started our trekking towards Nagamalai Hills. There was a reminder of Veerappan living in the forests of MM Hills and Nagamalai Hills.

View from the trekking trail

Trekking towards Nagamalai was quite moderate difficulty. Before journey, we had breakfast (Idly) at House nearby. Children at the places used to beg for their pocket money. I used to ask some jokey questions and having fun there. Myself , Ravi and Giri were enjoyed seeing natural beauty around, we had to climb 3 Hills to to reach Nagamalai Hills( Actually 7 Hills from MM Hills , we traveled through jeep around 4 Hills)

Mettur Dam can be seen from Nagamalai

Mode of Travel: Cab(Owned)

Details of Trip:

Onion Dosa at TN
Surya Temple
I was at office evening till 7PM, Girish called me regarding this This is kind of unplanned trip i could say. I came to home and bathed at 10PM and had dinner here. Everbody was ready by 11PM on 13th Aug 2012. We started moving towards Krishnagiri on NH7 and took left towards Thiruvanamalai. We enjoyed night travelling throughout night especially "Statues" wherever we see we used to find statues of Famous people in Tamilnadu. We went Thrivanmalai around 4AM in the morning but not had dharshan just saw temple from the gate then moved to Kumbakonam  on 14th Aug Morning where we had breakfast(This is first time we were having in Tamilnadu  and this was not at all satisfied to our stomach even though we ordered more food. We picked up guide person because we will not be able to cover all NavaGrahas(Nine Planets as per Hindu Religion) ....First we saw Surya Graha then Shukra(Venus)-Mangala(Mercury)-Bhuda-Shani(Saturn)-Rahu-Kethu-Guru-Chandra at the last. The direction of these temples are very difficult. All Grahas are located at distance of 30-40KMs in the Kumbakonam. we can not see all temples without Guide. Temples are very beautiful and large, constructed very technically. Today people can not build such type of temple. As i was seeing, i remember the this is why TamailNadu is called as Land of Temple. We were so tired and especially our friend drive is too tired as he was driven day and night so we decided to stay at Kumbakonam  and had nice sleep but not statisfied with dinner too as hotels charge like anything but we will not get Karnataka food much. Our Jack(Manju) got angry because we didn't offer him "GobiManchuri" as he asked for. We were getting angry because of not getting good dinner. However we managed everything and then slept off.

At Bay of Bengal
At Rameshwaram Bridge
We woke up early in the next morning , everybody was bathed and then started moving towards 'Chandra Temple" but route was quite confused as Guide was not there, he left us previous day itself. Somehow we managed to reach temple and had a darshan. After all this, we move to Tanjavur then Pudukotai move to Rameshwaram at around 1PM in the afternoon. I was so happy as i was seeing first Jythirlinga in India( Rameshwaram is one of 12 Jythorilingas in the India/World).

We got nice snaps at Rameshwaram Bridge. We went to have Bath at Bay of Bengal Ocean then had Darshan and we surprised to see the Rameswaram temple is one of biggest temples  in Tamil nadu. We started moving towards Bangalore Via Madura(600KMs) we left evening around 5PM and reached Madurai around 9PM where we had dinner again its " Parota". we see Parotas all over TamilNadu Hotels. Then came back to Bangalore at around 6PM in the morning. Thanks to God we had nice and safe journey.
