BR Hills-MM Hills-Nagamalai Hills Amazing Experience

Date: 4th and 5th Aug 2012

Myself and Ravi had left Bangalore early morning and reached to Malavalli where other friend(Girish) joined us. Three of us together went to BR Hills via Kollegala -Yalanduru. There was too much rush in the city as many people were coming to BR hills as some festival was going on at top of hills. I had mouth ulcer then, not able to taste any hot foods. We reached to Top of Hills through KSRTC bus which went very slowly. The Road was good but too steep in some places. We went to Top of hills where Temple was located. There was wonderful temple built by Cholas. We were being offered " Puliyogre" as prasadam at temple. This Prasad was very good in taste and we enjoyed it.

Myself and Ravi on BR Hills

We enjoyed seeing nature beauty across hills and had nice lunch Lemon Rice (Chitranna). I also wanted to do trekking in this BR hills, This is dense forest and really nice of going for adventure in this forest. We left BR hills at around 2PM and reached down the city. We saw the other beautiful temple in the City built by Cholas.

Temple in Yalanduru

We left Yalanduru and then reached to MM Hills at around evening 6PM. we planned to trek to Nagamalai Hills in the next morning. We had a darshan of Malai Mahadeshwara Sway at temple in the night. We stayed in the lodge and woke up  in the morning at around 7AM. We got a Jeep from MM Hills to reach the place where we started our trekking towards Nagamalai Hills. There was a reminder of Veerappan living in the forests of MM Hills and Nagamalai Hills.

View from the trekking trail

Trekking towards Nagamalai was quite moderate difficulty. Before journey, we had breakfast (Idly) at House nearby. Children at the places used to beg for their pocket money. I used to ask some jokey questions and having fun there. Myself , Ravi and Giri were enjoyed seeing natural beauty around, we had to climb 3 Hills to to reach Nagamalai Hills( Actually 7 Hills from MM Hills , we traveled through jeep around 4 Hills)

Mettur Dam can be seen from Nagamalai
